I'm liking Absolut's new ad campaign a lot more than their old one.  Their latest shows what the world would be like if the currency was Acts of Kindness.  Pretty clever.  Check out the video:

My favorite part of Tom & Jerry and Roadrunner cartoons are the Rube Goldberg machines.  Tom or Wile E. Coyote would setup these elaborate machines that Jerry and Roadrunner would sit and watch as the entire process went off.  It was brilliant.  Of course, I would have decked Jerry while he was watching the Rube Goldberg machine.  Little puke. Oh, I forgot.  This one makes cocktails.

Good to see that Kanye rocks out with great music and doesn't take himself too seriously. 

I was reading Neyah White's blog and he posted this cool video about some Bartender Anime and then I looked at the "related" and found this. It's a video of this bartender in Vegas making a Liquid Panty Dropper for about one minute then she dances around the run-down bar like a stripper for the next 3 minutes, except she's not a stripper, because she's in Vegas and strippers in Vegas work less and make more money. Faaabuloooous!

The guys from Tim & Eric Awesome Show and Tom Goes to the Mayor and a bunch of stuff on SuperDeluxe.com got free reign to do whatever they want for Absolut, as long as they mentioned the product. I wish more companies would be this liberal with their brand because a lot of good stuff would come out of it. Also, a lot of bad stuff, which could be good too.

A complete waste of time? Or are you just saying that because you're insanely jealous of what might possibly be the greatest thing ever ?

Tealeaves.com did an instruction video on how to make a Sidecar (The drink, not an actual sidecar, you Hogan's Heroes loving genius). Unfortunately, they made it in a wine glass. I always find it interesting how most people who make drinks talk about drink purity until they decide there's something that they don't like, then it's okay to change the drink however they want it. But why in a wine glass? They made a short video as to why and I have to say, it's even a little bit valid.

Every bar in San Francisco seems to be carrying the Distillery 209 gin as it's born and bred right on one of the piers in SF. It's a decent gin (not as good as everyone keeps trying to tell me it is) but makes up in storyline what it might be lacking in ginny goodness. I recently posted about Cocktails on the Fly and the host, Albert Straub, a web video production that covers how to make some unique drinks. Alberta's a pro bartender and she has some great takes on drinks and a pretty fun personality. She came out from behind the bar to do a 3-part tour of the Distillery 209. Though the piece starts off a bit slow (she keeps looking at the camera, like she knows I'm there. She KNOWS, man!) she quickly gets in to her groove and does a great little piece on how gin is made and why 209 is unique. Definitely worth a watch for anyone who wants to see a distillery in action. Anyone worth their salt and knows cartoons knows a good Rube Goldberg device when they see one. This is a great one because the end result is a glass of beer. It's the actual video that sucks.

Okay, so Dewar's sent out this press release to, I assume, all the alcohol blogs, reminding us of Repeal Day and giving us some Dewar's related recipes to tack on. What's Repeal Day? It's the day Prohibition ended and the world rejoiced, allowing us to get so sloppy drunk that we'd ask our cousin for a hummer. Well, Prohibition didn't really stop that from happening, but it did stop you from doing it in a very public place. To that end, Dewar's made a video about what it would be like if Prohibition never ended. A scary thought indeed.
